Congress President Rahul Gandhi, on Tuesday, alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi extracted Rs 30,000 crore from funds meant for jawans and gave it to Anil Ambani. He was speaking at the 'Jan Sankalp Rally', that marks the beginning of the party's campaigning for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, in the Prime Minister's and BJP chief Amit Shah's homeland.

The Congress party, therefore, sounded a poll bugle from Gujarat and also held the Congress Working Committee meeting in Ahmedabad. After the meeting, many senior Congress leaders reached the venue of the rally at Adalaj, in the outskirts of Gandhinagar city. The rally was attended by UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress's general secretary Priyanka Gandhi.

Speaking at the rally that was attended by as many as 75,000 people, Rahul Gandhi said, "PM Narendra Modi had promised to fight against corruption, but Rs 30,000 crore was taken from funds for IAF martyrs and was handed over to Anil Ambani. The Prime Minister and Anil Ambani had a meeting with the former president of France and they pushed him into giving the Rafale contract to Anil Ambani. He cannot even make paper planes yet was given a contract to make fighter planes."

"On the day a Pakistani terror group killed our jawans, our Prime Minister gave five airports to one of his industrialist friends. Modi wants to make two different India. One of rich people and the other of oppressed and poor people," Rahul said.

The Congress president also said that National Security Advisor Ajit Doval had escorted Masood Azhar to Pakistan with bags full of rupees through a special plane while the Prime Minister talks of patriotism.

"The Congress government had arrested Masood Azhar, but the then NDA government led by Atal Bihari Vajpayee released him," Rahul further said.

He also verbally attacked the PM over unemployement, GST, farmer debts, and other issues. Rahul promised to scrap the existing structure of GST, guaranteed minimum income schemes, and farm waiver for all farmers across the nation, if the Congress is voted to power.

"In the current times, there is a clash between two different ideologies in the nation. Both of these ideologies exist in the state. On one hand, there is an ideology inherited from Mahatma Gandhi and on the other hand, some people in want to weaken the nation," the Congress president further added.
