Assam Chief Electoral Officer Mukesh Sahu has said that the National Register of Citizens NRC, would not impact voting rights in the Lok Sabha election.

Mr. Sahu said, anyone whose name appears on the electoral rolls can vote, irrespective of the person’s inclusion in the final draft of the NRC.

Our correspondent reports that the NRC is being d in state to register legal citizens and in the process, identify illegal migrants.
