11 new cases of swine flu registered

Surat: Eleven new cases of swine flu were detected from Surat city taking the total number to cases to 239 this season. Two persons have died due to the diseases since January 1.

Nine patients receiving treatment in different city hospitals were discharged following improvement in their condition.


However, eleven new patients that were found to be infected with H1N1 virus include a six-month-old and 10-month-old babies from Uttran and Amroli areas of the city. Apart from that the list also includes a nine-year-old girl from Mota Varachha area.


There are still 57 patients in different city hospitals receiving treatment for swine flu, out of which condition of 34 is stated to be stable. Fifteen are on ventilators and eight are on oxygen support.
