He's already facing years in prison for tax and bank fraud, but now Paul Manafort's situation could take a darker turn as he faces a federal judge in Washington on Wednesday for his second sentencing in just a week.

President Donald Trump's former campaign manager faces up to additional 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy and witness tampering.

Ellis, in a separate case, gave him a lighter than expected 47 months behind bars on 8 counts of tax and bank fraud.

Both cases are tied to Special Counsel Robert Mueller's Russia probe.

Analysts say Manafort may have a tougher time with Washington Judge Amy Berman Jackson, who last month ruled Manafort had violated a plea agreement with Mueller by repeatedly lying to prosecutors and the grand jury.

Jackson is also the judge who last year ordered Manafort to be jailed pending trial amid evidence he had tried to contact witnesses to influence their testimony.

The sentencing in Virginia and now Washington cap a stunning downfall for the veteran Washington lobbyist and political operative, who was found guilty of evading taxes on some $16 million dollars he earned while working for pro-Russian officials in Ukraine.

Manafort was also convicted of lying to banks to finance an opulent lifestyle of luxurious homes and designer suits.

Manafort faces the judge to learn his fate at 9:30 a.m.
