PUNE: A florist and his assistant were arrested on Sunday for assaulting a client and his brother with a sharp weapon in Nigdi Pradhikaran over the cancellation of an order.

Dilip Jain suffered injuries on his neck, head and left hand, while his brother escaped with minor injuries.

Senior inspector Satish Pawar said the florist, Pandurang Awaghade (30), and Arun Sukare (34), were arrested under Section 307 (attempt to murder) of the IPC and relevant sections of the Indian Arms Act.

“Awaghade said Jain’s order was suddenly cancelled. Furious, the duo barged into his house around 4.30pm. They hurled abuses at Jain and threatened his brother when he tried to intervene. They then assaulted Jain and left,” Pawar said.

“Jain said he called Awaghade for confirmation but could not reach him. He then placed an order with someone else. Our probe is on,” he added.
