Kalank teaser: Alia Bhatt loves Varun Dhawan, marries Aditya Roy Kapur in this gorgeous video
Kalank teaser brings to life the epic tale of Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Madhuri Dixit, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sanjay Dutt, set in the turbulent 1940s India.
bollywood Updated: Mar 12, 2019 13:23 ISTFirst thing first, Kalank teaser is gorgeous like a Raja Ravi Verma painting, like a Sanjay Leela Bhansali composition, like a dream. Kalank teaser is also that, a tease. It is one of those teasers that gives nothing away. There is Alia Bhatt who obviously loves Varun Dhawan but marries Aditya Roy Kapur as she sheds a quiet tear. There is a city ready to burn and then it does -- perhaps a reference to the film’s setting, 1940s India.
Kalank teaser also has Madhuri Dixit’s courtesan, Sonakshi Sinha’s Satya and Sanjay Dutt’s Balraj -- all looking concerned. And then there are the beautiful shots that have Alia on a languorous boat ride, Varun in a bull fight and the Far Eastern icons that are scattered all over.

Karan Johar’s Kalank is supposed to bring the multi-starrers back. With an epic star cast of Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Madhuri Dixit, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sanjay Dutt, this period tale set in the 1940s India has definitely got the mood right.

Before Kalank teaser came out on Tuesday, the entire cast was teased in character posters over two days. The posters of the three men of Kalank – Varun, Sanjay and Aditya -- came out on March 7 and the leading ladies’ – Alia, Madhuri and Sonakshi -- first looks were revealed on International Women’s Day (March 8).
Karan had earlier shared how the film is special to him. “A film that was born in my heart and mind 15 years ago....a film I passionately believe in...the last film my father worked on before he left us....it was his dream to see this film come through....I couldn’t fulfil his dream then....my spirit was broken....but today his wish has found a relationship with celluloid....the story of turbulent relationships and eternal love has found a voice....the film has been woven, nurtured and visualised by ABHISHEK VARMAN....and the film Is KALANK! Set in the 40’s but it’s heart lives on.....TOMORROW the journey begins.....am excited ...anxious and emotional about this one...I do hope you join us on our path to undying love,” he wrote.
Helmed by Abhishek Varman, Kalank will be Alia and Varun’s fourth collaboration after working together in blockbusters like Student of the Year, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania.
