A multilevel car parking will come up at Qutab Road on a public private partnership basis after the North Delhi Municipal Corporation’s standing committee approved it last week.
The site, near the New Delhi Railway Station, was proposed after a traders’ association in the area approached the High Court over loss of surface level parking there, which was handed to the Northern Railway by the North Corporation.
Since 1997
The petitioners had informed the court that the parking had been operational since 1997.
The parking to come up at 1,234 square metre of land near the old site on a public private partnership. It is expected to be completed in two years’ time and will provide space for up to 160 cars.
Cost of project
The cost of the project has been finalised at ₹27.75 crore and will be be borne by the private company.
The project is to be developed on the model of the Gandhi Maidan Parking project.
