Stuffs bodies in suitcases, dumps it in drain with the help of live-in partner

A 26-year-old woman and her live-in partner allegedly killed the woman’s parents for property and dumped the bodies in suitcases in Outer Delhi’s Paschim Vihar. The accused have been arrested, the police said on Monday.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer) Seju P. Kuruvilla said that the accused have been identified as Davinder Kaur alias Sonia and her partner Prince Dixit alias Vikram who allegedly killed the woman’s father Gurmeet Singh, a carpenter, in February and mother Jageer Kaur in the first week of March.

Body found

Police said that on March 8, they received an information regarding a body of a woman lying in the drain in Nangloi. When police reached the spot, they found the body stuffed in a suitcase. The woman was identified as Ms. Jageer who was reported missing by her daughter Sonia. A murder case was registered and investigation was taken up under the supervision of Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Rajendra Singh Sagar.

During inquiry, police found that Ms. Jageer’s husband was also missing for the last few days but was not reported missing by either the wife or the daughter. “Neighbours said that Mr. Gurmeet wasn’t seen for nearly 15 days,” said a senior police officer.

While looking for him, investigators searched the area near the house and the drain and a body in another suitcase was found in a highly decomposed state very close to where Ms. Jageer’s body was found. The body was identified to be of Mr. Gurmeet.

The couple’s daughter Sonia was questioned as to why she did not report the missing of her father. She couldn’t give a satisfactory response which raised suspicion on her, the police said. “Several neighbours and relatives of the couple were asked about her conduct and they said that whenever they asked her about the mother or father, she would make excuses for their absence. Her background was also checked,” the officer said.

The police were informed that she was married to a man five years ago and got divorced. She then fell in love with a man and married him only to get divorced again about two years ago. She has two children from her second marriage. About a year ago, she had met an event management professional, Prince, while looking for a job and the two started living-in together in Nilothi Extension. She was, however, unemployed because of lack of educational qualification. Her former husbands were also questioned, the police said.

The woman was then picked up for questioning and during sustained interrogation, she allegedly revealed her involvement along with her partner and his friends in the murder. On her instance, Prince was also arrested.

Hatched plan

The accused allegedly told the police that she wanted her parents to register their Nitothi Extension house in her name as she needed money to raise her two children. The parents disagreed after which she allegedly planned to kill them with her partner.

“On February 10, Ms. Jageer left for Jalandhar as her father passed away. On February 21, she mixed sleeping pills in her father’s tea. At night, Prince came to her house with two of his friends and they smothered him to death. The accused then packed his body in a suitcase and dumped it in the drain,” Mr. Kuruvilla said adding that Prince left for Lucknow the next day.

On March 2, her mother returned and the accused killed her the same way, the police said. Sonia had informed and called Prince before her mother reached Delhi. Police said that two other accused have been identified and will be nabbed soon.
