The PUBG Mobile Club Open 2019 is an all year event with the first matches starting later this month. Both semi-pro and pro teams will be able to compete for the $2 million prize pool. This is PUBG Mobile’s largest prize pool ever. The championship is split into two parts – the Spring Split and the Fall Split. Each of these splits will have their own prize pool and a Global final match.
The final match for the Spring Split will be held in July, whereas the finals for the Fall Split Global will be held in December. According to Tencent, the developers behind PUBG Mobile, the Star Challenge 2018 event saw over 230 million online visitors and around 5,000 attended the finals that was held in Dubai. Last year, RRQ Athena from Thailand won the title and $600,000 in prize money.
For the 2019 Club Open, teams from South-east Asia, India, China, Europe, North America, South America, Japan, Middle-East and Korea can participate. A Wild card entry will also be included. Up to 16 teams will battle for the prize money and the games will be held within the 4 maps and in TPP mode. Tencent has outlined the rules and requirements for registering. Second, a team can have up to five players with three of them being from the region they are representing.
