Nagpur: The rural police is learnt to be focusing on the tipper-robber nexus theory to unravel the daylight armed robbery of Rs24 lakhs at Dahegaon on Monday. The cops are not ruling out involvement of insider in the heist who may have provided crucial inputs to the culprits regarding the movement of the cash courier agent of the petrol pump who was robbed at the knifepoint.

Police said the four masked robbers, armed with knife, may have been tipped by someone from the petrol pump or the cash courier agent. The agent, who was supposed to the take cash to a bank at Mankapur, had been intercepted within 200 meters after leaving the petrol pump.

The cops have been questioning the agent who was robbed along with the petrol pump employees and are learnt to be left crippled as there is no CCTV footage available to help them.

According to a senior police officer, the precision with which the robbery was done suggests that it could not have been executed so smoothly without possible connivance of the insiders.

The cops are left baffled as there was no resistance from the agent too before surrendering the amount to the robbers. The robbers too did not showed any aggression with the cash agent.
