Patna: Former sergeant major booked for selling trees

Representative imageSASARAM: An FIR was lodged against former sergeant major of Kaimur district Sanjay Ojha with Bhabua police station on Sunday for allegedly selling trees planted in Police Lines. The FIR was lodged on the direction of DIG Shahabad range Rakesh Kumar Rathi. The accused sergeant major is now posted in Patna Police Lines as major.
Sources said the charges against Ojha were probed by Bhabua ASP Ajay Kumar. “The inquiry report corroborated the allegation levelled against Ojha,” they said.
The sources added that the Kaimur SP suspended Ojha and communicated the suspension order to the Patna SSP last week. “The DIG took the matter seriously and asked the Kaimur SP to lodge an FIR against Ojha. The serving sergeant major, Shyam Bihari Rai, lodged the FIR on Sunday,” they said.
