Share market update: Bank shares advance; YES Bank rises over 2%

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 109.85 points at 11,145.25 while the BSE Sensex was up 307.87 points at 36,979.30.

NEW DELHI: Bank shares were trading in the positive zone in Monday's afternoon session.

Shares of Federal Bank (up 3.31 per cent), Bank of Baroda (up 2.51 per cent), IDFC First Bank (up 2.25 per cent) and YES Bank (up 2.22 per cent) were trading with gains.

State Bank of India (up 2.13 per cent), RBL Bank (up 1.82 per cent), Punjab National Bank (up 1.79 per cent) and ICICI Bank (up 1.39 per cent) too were among the top gainers in the index.

The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.81 per cent up at 27,987.20 around 12:10 pm.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 44 were trading in the green, while 6 were in the red.

Shares of Coal India, Tata Motors, SBI, YES Bank, Ashok Leyland, HPCL, Motherson Sumi, NTPC, SAIL, Indian Oil Corp and Bank of Baroda were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
