Confident of his victory in the by-election to the Shiroda constituency, president of the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party Pandurang ‘Deepak’ Dhavalikar on Monday said the MGP has now also decided to contest the by-elections in Mandrem and Mapusa constituencies.

“The MGP will definitely contest and win the by-polls in all the three constituencies,” he
added.

Speaking to ‘The Navhind Times’ on Monday, the MGP president said  the decision as to

whether his party would field its candidates at the Lok Sabha elections in North Goa and South Goa constituencies remains to be reached.

When asked whether his party would continue its support to the Bharatiya Janata Party government if it wins any seat at the by-polls in the three constituencies, Dhavalikar said, “We can decide on that later, let my party win these seats first.”

The by-poll in the three constituencies will be held on April 23 along with the election for the two Lok Sabha seats in Goa.

The MGP had displayed its show of strength in the Shiroda constituency on March 10 by taking out a huge motorcycle rally.
