DARTMOUTH — Hazardous waste in the Bliss Corner area of Dartmouth will be the subject of a public meeting on Thursday, March 21, hosted by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection.

DEP personnel will talk about the investigation into historic dumping in the residential neighborhood, according to a notice posted on Mass.gov.

Soil testing late last year revealed polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) on a house lot at 20 Kraseman St. Lead and other contaminants have been found on three other lots on McCabe and Kraseman Streets.

DEP is investigating how far the pollution may go and who may be responsible. The agency recently issued a sheet of frequently asked questions for residents.

The public meeting is set for 6 p.m. in the auditorium at Dartmouth High School, 555 Bakerville Road.
