PUNE: Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Kakade has expressed his displeasure at not getting a Lok Sabha seat from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and has stated that he will soon be joining the Congress.

While talking to reporters during an event, Kakade said, “I am ready to accept responsibilities handed over to me by Congress President Rahul Gandhi. I was getting no response from the BJP so I had to look for other options.”

“I am in good terms with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and will continue to be. However, as parties have their mode of working, I requested the Congress that I want to work with them and they have accepted my proposal.”

"I am not joining Congress on any condition and I am ready to work as per party demands. If I get a seat, I will contest or else I will do as the party says,” added Kakade.

MP Anil Shirole refused to comment on this latest political development in the city.
