"Captain Marvel" made history this weekend.

The film had the biggest opening in history for a film with a female lead, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The movie starring Brie Larson made $455 million globally, with $153 million in ticket sales in North America alone.

It was also the second-biggest opening in history for a superhero film, behind last year's "Avengers: Infinity War," which grossed $640 million on its opening weekend.
