Khanna: 340kg of poppy husk seized from truck, 1 held

LUDHIANA: Khanna police on Sunday recovered 340kg of poppy husk from a truck at Kamma Faizgarh area. The police also arrested a man in connection with the case.

The person accused was identified as Harbans Singh of Toderpur in Patiala district whereas the other accused, who managed to flee the spot, was identified as Sarabjit Singh Gora of Sangrur district.


Police said that the recovery of the poppy husk was made at a police check post following a tip-off by an informer.


They added that accused were booked under section 15/61/85 of the NDPS Act at Sadar Khanna police station.


SHO Sadar Khanna Anwar Ali said that a manhunt has been launched to arrest Sarabjit Singh.
