The body of a 22-year-old man with his head crushed was found in a drain in southwest Delhi’s Delhi Cantonment area on Monday morning. Police said a case of murder had been registered and they had got specific clues regarding the motive behind the murder and the killers.

They said their preliminary probe revealed the man was murdered over his alleged relationship with another man.

Deputy commissioner of police (southwest) Devender Arya said, “We have certain clues regarding the killers and the motive behind the crime. Efforts are on to nab the suspects. They will be caught.”

Arya said the crime came to their notice around 8.30 am when a passerby found a man’s body in a drain and called the police control room. A police team reached the spot and fished out the body from the drain. “We found multiple injuries on the head, suggesting the man was repeatedly attacked with a blunt object. The body was sent to a nearby government hospital’s mortuary for autopsy,” said Arya.

Police said the man’s identity was established with the help of his identification documents, which we found on his possession. He worked in a wedding tent decorator and caterer shop.
