A man is fighting for life after falling five metres off a rock wall in the heart of Brisbane overnight.

The man, aged in his early 20s, fell on Turbot Street in Brisbane City about 2am.

He was rushed to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital in a critical condition.

Critical care paramedics and the High Acuity Response Unit responded to the incident.
