New Delhi, The Supreme Court is likely to hear on March 28, a batch of petitions challenging the Constitution Amendment that gives 10 per cent reservation in jobs and education for economically weaker section (EWS) of the society.
A bench of the Apex Court, headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi said, it would see on March 28 whether the case needs to be referred to five-judge Constitution bench.
“We will see and hear it on March 28 as to whether the case needs to be sent to a five judge Constitution bench,” the bench of the Top Court said on Monday.
There are many petitions filed before the Apex Court challenging the Constitution Amendment that gives 10 per cent reservation in jobs and education for EWS of the society.
The petitions have been filed by Congress sympathiser and social activist, Tehseen Poonawala, lawyer Reepak Kansal and many organisations.
