Gwyneth Paltrow is clearing the air on her acting career.

The 46-year-old Oscar winner sat down with Today’s Savannah Guthrie ahead of her New York Goop Summit in which she discussed her feelings on her highly successful career as an actress and businesswoman.

“I’ve never said that I am quitting acting,” Paltrow said. “What I say is Goop is my full-time passion and being the founder and CEO of Goop is what I do all day, every day.”

While Goop has taken off and grown into a $250 million business, Paltrow said she wouldn’t say no to acting opportunities.

“Occasionally, when something is the right thing and it works out around my children and my Goop life, I’m able to participate,” she said. “I think I’m just not focused on full time acting right now.”

The actress was featured in a New York Times profile earlier this month where she revealed her love for business.

When asked if she saw herself “as an actor who developed a career as a lifestyle entrepreneur, or a lifestyle entrepreneur who happened to have a career as an actor,” Paltrow put it bluntly.

I was masquerading as an actor,” she said.

Paltrow recently told Variety she made a conscious decision to step away from Hollywood after the industry shifted to focus on more blockbuster fare.

“I think the movies and the business around them have changed so much in the last 20 years,” Paltrow said, explaining the films she used to make — those with an adult audience — had stopped being made.

“I don’t think any of the movies that I’m known for would get made today,” she continued. “Would they make The Royal Tenenbaums? Would they make The Talented Mr. Ripley? Would they make Shakespeare in Love?”
