Mumbai votes on April 29, acid test for alliances
MUMBAI: The 2019 Lok Sabha polls will be a fierce contest across Maharashtra's 48 seats- second only to UP's 80-given that assembly polls will be held later in the year.

The state's LS poll candidates traverse a wide age arch-with veteran Sharad Pawar, 78, of the NCP, battling it out alongside Shiv Sena's Aditya Thackeray, who is in his twenties.

Polling will be held in 4 phases across the state-on April 11, 18, 23 and 29- with the Mumbai region casting its ballot in phase IV i.e. April 29.

The election will be an acid test for the BJP-Shiv Sena combine and the Congress-NCP-led 'Maha Aghadi', say political analysts.
