Free State police have launched a manhunt for a gang of armed robbers who robbed a school in Kutloanong, Odendaalsrus on Friday.
Police spokesperson Captain Stephen Thakeng said the robbers attacked and pointed firearms at a security guard at Seqhobong High School, before stealing computers and other electronic items.
"On March 8 at about 02:25, a security guard was on duty at Seqhobong High School in Kutloanong, Odendaalsrus when suddenly there appeared seven unknown men armed with hand guns. His hands and feet were tied up. The suspects gained entrance to the computer room of the school, where they stole eight computers, five laptops, 28 tablets and a mixer system for sound.
"No shots were fired and nobody was injured. The suspects fled the scene on foot and the incident was later reported to the Odendaalsrus police station. A case of business robbery was registered for further investigation. Nobody has been arrested thus far, therefore an intensive investigation continues," he said.
