Clayton Lucas, 25, faces aggravated assault and other charges
A Pennsylvania man is accused of strangling a man driving him last week because he was angry the driver wouldn’t stop singing Christmas carols.
Clayton Lucas, 25, faces aggravated assault and other charges after allegedly attacking the man driving him in Allegheny County on March 4, according to local stations WTAE, CBS Pittsburg and WYMT, who cite a criminal complaint.
The pair were found by a state trooper who had been waved down and warned about a possible medical emergency on the side of Route 28, WYMT reports.
The alleged victim had been driving Lucas from a halfway house to treatment when he began to sing Christmas carols, according to the complaint.

The driver told the trooper he’d been singing when Lucas allegedly reached around his seat and began to choke him to make him stop. He said he nearly passed out, the complaint states.
The trooper noticed the victim’s eyes were bloodshot and his neck was red. When he tried to handcuff Lucas, the suspect allegedly resisted and physical force was used to restrain him, the complaint states.
Lucas is scheduled to appear in court on March 13, WYMT reports. It is unclear whether he has an attorney or has entered a plea.
