A popular bodyboarder known as the 'Milky Bar Kid' has been pictured after tragically being pulled unconscious from the surf of an unpatrolled surf beach in New South Wales.
Jake Hanson was bodyboarding at Pinny Beach in the Lake Macquarie region of New South Wales on Sunday morning before he went under and failed to surface.
Emergency services including a rescue helicopter rushed to the scene to look for the 22-year-old.

Ambulance NSW said it's understood Mr Hanson went into cardiac arrest after he was pulled from the dangerous waters.
A close friend of Mr Hanson, Jayden Dann, told The Daily Telegraph that he'd never met anyone like 'Milky'.
'He was my best mate, my brother — everyone knew him as Milky,' he said.
'I've never met anyone more outgoing or as unique as him.
'We used to call him Milky because he looked like the Milky Bar kid.'
