Burglars strike at govt teacher’s house in Chinhat

LUCKNOW: Burglars broke out into the house of a Central School teacher and made off with Rs 30,000 cash and jewellery worth lakhs of rupees, under Chinhat police station, on Sunday.
Police said that the burglars struck on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, when the house owner Jagdish Kumar and his family had gone to attend a wedding. Around 6.30am on Sunday, Jagdish’s neighbours saw the lock on the main door of his house broken and informed him.
Jagdish rushed to the spot and noticed that valuable were strewn across the floor, with cash and jewellery missing. Station house officer of Chinhat police station, Sachin Singh, said, “We are trying to trace the burglars and they will be nabbed soon.”
He said that there were no CCTV cameras installed in the area and the police are interrogating local residents for clues. An FIR has been registered under charges of theft and lurking house trespass.
