Jaynagar-Patna Express gets new stoppage

PATNA: The Jaynagar-Patna Intercity Express (15549/15550) has got its stoppage at Bhagwanpur station under the Sonepur division of the East Central Railway (ECR). Union minister Ram Vilas Paswan on Sunday flagged off the train through videoconferencing from Sonepur to mark its stoppage at Bhagwanpur station.

The train was flagged off before the announcement of Lok Sabha poll schedule by the Election Commission. The Railway Board has approved the stoppage of the train at Bhagwanpur on a temporary basis for six months.


According to ECR’s chief public relations officer (CPRO) Rajesh Kumar, the Saharsa-Pataliputra Janhit Express (13205/13206) and Barauni-Ambala Cantt Hariharnath Express (14523/14524) also got stoppage at Mahnar Road station and Sarai stations, respectively under the Sonepur division of the ECR. “The Board has approved these stoppages for the convenience of the common people travelling on these routes,” the CPRO said.


Also, railways has approved stoppage of the Raxaul-Pataliputra DEMU (75215/75216) at Kundwa Chainpur station. The Danapur-Anand Vihar Jansadharan Express (13257/13258) which was earlier cancelled till March 31, will resume its journey from March 15. “The decision has been taken to avoid rush of passengers during Holi,” Kumar said.


Trains cancelled: The railways on Sunday cancelled four pairs of passenger trains due to the freight convoy work being carried out on the Muzaffarpur-Paniahwa route under the Sonepur division of the East Central Railway (ECR). The cancelled passenger trains include Muzaffarpur-Narkatiaganj DEMU (75237/75238), Gorakhpur-Narkatiagnaj passenger (55073/55080), Gorakhapur-Bettiah passenger (55042/55079) and Muzaffarpur-Narkatiaganj DEMU (75257/75260).


The speed of Bandra Terminus-Muzaffarpur Avadh Express (19040) has been controlled by 120 minutes and Muzaffarpur-Narkatiaganj passenger (15215) by 60 minutes. The Sealdah-Muzaffarpur Express (53131) has been short terminated at Barauni due to the ongoing freight corridor work on the Muzaffarpur-Paniahwa route.
