ITB Berlin sees 3 per cent increase in trade visitor numbers, robust and resilient travel industry

Even in the time of widespread uncertainty like geopolitical and economic events like Brexit and trade conflicts, ITB Berlin could retain its position as the World’s largest Travel  Trade Show.

 

Dr. Christian Göke, CEO of Messe Berlin said that ITB Berlin is of great importance majorly in times of widespread uncertainty. Hi-tech communication in a digitized world will not possibly replace the confidence –building measure that face-to-face meetings and exchange between business partners can create on issues related to global industry.

 

 

There is a buoyant mood among consumers and positive employment situation leading to a sustained dynamic growth.

 

 

Domestic tourism in Germany is booming and the country’s federal states are confident that record figures was achieved last summer  and it would be repeated in 2019.

 

 

 

The World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) forecasts that the international arrival this year will be increasing in the order of three to four percent considering the global outlook.

 

 

ITB Berlin was satisfactory for tarde visitors and exhibitors and it was marked to for innovation.  It successfully launched Technology, Tours & Activities (TTA) segment, among others.

 

 

Travel trade industry India is regarded as one of the most important source markets of the future and after the already established  ITB Asia in Singapore and ITB China in Shanghai, from 15 to 17 April 2020 Messe Berlin will be holding the first ITB India in Mumbai

 

 

CityCube Berlin, the new venue was well received and this year the number of high-ranking international speakers broke records.

 

International Women’s Day was celebrated for the first time in Berlin had a slight impact on public attendance as many people took a short break.

 

 

 

Dr. Christian Göke opined that in  Germany the healthy situation in the employment market and the positive consumer mood among the country’s citizens is a guarantee that demand for travel products will remain stable.

 

Over 10,000 exhibitors from 181 countries and regions displayed their products and services to visitors in 26 halls took part between 6 and 10 March 2019.

 

 

The next ITB Berlin is scheduled from Wednesday, 4 to Sunday, 8 March 2020.

 

Norbert Fiebig, president of the German Travel Association (DRV) said that we exchanged views in digitalisatin and sustainability and established international contacts. Berlin is becoming  the main international and cosmopolitan meeting place.
