Chief minister HD Kumaraswamy on Sunday kicked off the drive organised by the health and family welfare department by administering the drops to several children age below five at Krishna, his home office.
As per the figures, about 89.8% of children have been covered on an average in Karnataka. In Bengaluru Urban, over 88% children were immunised while in Bengaluru Rural, 97% were immunised. Within BBMP limits, about 81.9% of children were immunised.
The drive was held across more than 32,737 centres in the state. Out of 64,85,980 children, 58,23,345 were immunised across the state as part of the pulse polio vaccination drive, showed figures provided by the health and family welfare department.
