A large number of people from various walks of life, including security personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), participated in a solidarity march in honour of the CRPF victims of the Pulwama attack, at Besant Nagar on Sunday.

Forty CRPF personnel were killed in Jammu and Kashmir on February 14. The march, organised by AYUDH, a youth wing of the Mata Amritanandamayi Math, was flagged off by Governor Banwarilal Purohit.

“Even as our hearts go out to soldiers for whom we bow our heads as a mark of reverence, our gallant security forces have given a fitting reply to the terrorists by destroying several terrorist camps,” said the Governor.

He thanked the members of AYUDH and the CRPF personnel for organising such an event to reflect the mood of the nation. Volunteers of AYUDH bearing placards with photographs of the victims went on a 1.4-km march in Besant Nagar. Minister for Tamil Official Language and Tamil Culture K. Pandiarajan and CRPF Deputy Inspector General S. Elango participated.
