Horrific attack: Police investigate suspicious death in Gungahlin
A 56-year-old man died in what ACT Policing detective superintendent Scott Moller described as a horrific attack.
Police said a 30-year-old man was assisting police with their inquiries but no arrests had been made.
"At about 2am police were called to a residence in Gungahlin following reports of an altercation and located the 56-year-old man who had suffered critical injuries. CPR was conducted however the [man] died at the scene," police said in a statement.
Police have ruled out a shooting but have not determined the cause of the man's death. A weapon has not been found. They are treating the death as suspicious at this point.
Officers have closed part of Wizard Street and a number of parts of Hall Best Lane in Gungahlin as part of their investigations.
Forensics officers were seen laying markers on Hall Best Lane about 11am.
