Cops crack kidnap case within hours

VIJAYAWADA: Sattenapalli rural police cracked a kidnap case and rescued the victim within six hours.
The case was reported at Rentapalla village under Sattenapalli mandal. Gudimetla Jayarao, a real estate broker, was kidnapped on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday by a gang of four people over a land dispute.
Kakunuri Govindaiah, Kakunuri Anjani Kumar, B Anjaneyulu and B Veeranjaneyulu arrived at Jayarao's house at around 2am on Sunday, and forcefully abducted him in their car. After receiving a complaint from Jayarao's family, the police launched an investigation.
During the investigation, cops learnt that the car went towards Piduguralla in Guntur district. As the police were searching for Jayarao, he himself managed to escape from the kidnappers and came in contact with them. Sattenapalli rural inspector M Parrabhiramaiah said that they rescued the victim within six hours. However, the kidnappers are still on the run and searches are on.
