Farmers donate Rs 5k for Pulwama martyrs
tnn | Mar 11, 2019, 04:59 ISTVaranasi: Farmers of Silauta village in Chandauli district donated money equal to a day’s food grains to National Defence Fund (NDF) for Pulwama terror attack martyrs, on Sunday. The farmers deposited the amount (Rs 5,881) through the NDF portal.
The fund was arranged and sent by the members of a social organisation. Mahatim Singh of the foundation said that the farmers voluntarily donated the food grains as a goodwill gesture to the family members of the soldiers martyred in Pulwama terror attack.
It is our small contribution to the families of martyrs who sacrificed for our safety, said a farmer Sanjay Kumar Bind. By donating some food grains cultivated by us we feel linked with the families of the martyrs, said another farmer Shivmoorat Shah. Similar were the opinions of other farmers like Shailendra Prasad, Kamlesh Prasad, Pradeep Prasad, Mahendra Bind, Jitendra Bind and others.
