I’m not target for contract killers: Yash

BENGALURU: Sandalwood star Yash on Saturday clarified that he was not being targeted by any anti-social elements as claimed by a certain section of the media. Addressing mediapersons, Yash, visibly looking upset, said, “I have nothing to do with contract killers and my name is not part of any contract killing episode.”
After he learnt about some television channels running programmes about contract killers targeting him, Yash said he immediately contacted the home minister and police officials to check the status of the FIR. “Police officials have assured my name is not in the FIR. Why are people spreading rumours,” asked Yash.
“Am I a chicken or goat to be slaughtered? I know who I am and the power I possess. I have come in front of the media to clear the air,” he added.
On Thursday, sleuths from Central Crime Branch (CCB) had arrested seven men who were moving around suspiciously. They told cops that their leader Bharat alias Slum Bharat, who is in judicial custody at Central Prison had taken supari to kill an eminent personality from Sandalwood.
“Probe revealed Bharath was all set to kill a noted actor in the Kannda film industry. But Yash’s name is being circulated and it is false news,” said additional commissioner of police (crime) Alok Kumar.
