Report:
Coleman illness
Everton were braced for Seamus Coleman’s late withdrawal after he fell ill 24 hours before the game with Newcastle.
The Blues full-back lasted only a few minutes of the warm-up at St James’ Park yesterday before having to come off the pitch.
His team-mates consoled him as he walked back down the tunnel.
Everton were forced into a quick squad reshuffle with Jonjoe Kenny replacing Coleman in the starting XI, Tom Davies coming into the squad and Gylfi Sigurdsson taking the captain’s armband.
Marco Silva says Everton wanted to give Coleman every chance to prove his fitness but after a sleepless night, the 30-year-old was not in any condition to face Newcastle.Everton were braced for Seamus Coleman’s late withdrawal after he fell ill 24 hours before the game with Newcastle.

Newcastle talking points
Our man Chris Beesley had a look at the key talking points after Everton’s collapse.
And here’s what he had to say of Yerry Mina’s introduction.

Colombia World Cup star Yerry Mina has been unfortunate to say the least with a series of injuries niggles that have made his debut season in the Premier League a stop-start affair.
After having to wait some three months into the campaign to finally make his belated debut, even since then his outings have been frustratingly sporadic.
For the man who wears the number 13 jersey at Everton, this was only his 13 appearance of the season – unlucky for some – but he may well have wished he’d not taken to the pitch on this occasion.
While the former Barcelona player could not be singled out for the horrific collapse, his introduction and reshaping of the defence coincided with the game dramatically swinging in momentum.
What the papers say
No holding back from the nationals, here...
Happy Birthday Samuel Eto'o
England's number one?
Jordan Pickford put in a nightmare showing yesterday.

He might have saved a penalty from Matt Ritchie, but it was his costly error that led to the spot-kick while he was also at fault for the second goal.
And, speaking on Final Score, Garth Crooks thinks his England place should come under scrutiny as a result.
The best keepers take a sting out of that ball by dropping it in front of them [in regards to Miguel Almiron’s shot which led to Perez’ first goal]. He hits it well. But he puts it back in the danger area.
He has made three big errors today. One was that cost a penalty, which Newcastle missed. Another one where he and Ki nearly clash that nearly causes them a goal. And this particular error here [Newcastle’s equaliser].
I think tonight there will be a big analysis about Jordan’s performance and the big talking point will be is he still England’s number one?
Meanwhile, Matt Le Tissier and Jeff Stelling were also both critical of the goalkeeper on Soccer Saturday.
“Pickford, it’s too hot to handle for him,” said Le Tissier giving his live reaction to the goal on Sky Sports Football’s Gillette Soccer Saturday [04:38pm].
“He parries it out and Ayoze Perez is first to the rebound and smashes it back past him. What a left-foot strike by Almiron, it’s moving a bit.
“I think Pickford’s going to be very disappointed in the way he parries it out though, poor goalkeeping.”

Stelling added: “It’s awful from Pickford, isn’t it?
“He’s got to think he’s a lucky boy to be on the pitch, but Newcastle won’t mind that so much now because he will be desperately disappointed.”
Bellew reaction
Retired boxer and Everton fan Tony Bellew wasn’t too happy with yesterday’s result unsurprisingly.
And he made his feelings on Jordan Pickford’s performance quite clear too.
Player ratings
Let’s start with Chris Beesley’s player ratings. They did not make for pretty reading...
Morning
Good morning Blues fans.
Well yesterday was horrendous. It’s the morning after the night before and I no amount of sleep is going to make that defeat to Newcastle feel any better. Just where do Everton go next?
But the show must go on. Stick with us for all the continued reaction.
