PATNA: Ashok Singh, a man from Siwan has made an appeal to all the guests coming to attend his daughter’s marriage through marriage invitation card, to cast their vote in upcoming general elections in favour of Narendra Modi in national interest as blessings to his daughter.

Singh’s youngest daughter Saloni Kumari, a final year graduation student, would get married with an Army man Brajesh Kumar Singh at Siswan Kala village under Mazharul Haq Nagar police station area in Siwan district on March 12.

The invitation card printed and sent to guests carries message "Note: Bitiya ko ashirvaad swaroop 2019 me Lok sabha chunav me vote desh hit me Narendra Modi ke paksh me kare…" (As blessings to my daughter, caste vote in favour of Narendra Modi for national interest in 2019 general election).

Singh, while talking to TOI over phone from Siwan, said he had made the appeal as he thinks that its in nation’s interest that Modi remains as PM sp that the country continues to develop.

"I am working with oil rig firms since more than two decades in Qatar. Earlier, none at their embassy used to give respect to we Indians but since Modi came into power, situation completely changed. Now we are offered water and are also provided place to sit while earlier we were forced to stand in queue. Attitude of authorities on foreign land has changed towards one holding an Indian passport. Our passport’s value has increased,” he said citing an example of change.

"He works for country and has nothing to with under the table deals. For whom he will do such things. We have such a strong PM after a long time," Singh said. He said PM Modi’s habit of addressing to people as ‘130 crore countrymen’ clearly reflects his ideology.

When asked that if he and his family are staunch BJP supporter or are associated with the party, Singh said that they all have nothing to do with party.

“I have made the appeal in name of Modi not for the party as he will continue to work for country’s development. Our MP Om Prakash Yadav did not win last general election because he was from BJP but people voted him on Modi’s name,” he said.

Singh’s eldest son Rajkumar Singh, who is a junior engineer with an oil firm in Oman, told TOI that there was no electricity and concrete road in their village till five years back but now they have both the facilities. Singh’s another son Sandeep Kumar Singh works in Dubai with a private firm.
