Saudi Arabia's minister of state for foreign affairs Adel Al Jubeir will be in India on Monday for a brief visit, whereby he will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj.
Jubeir's visit, which will last just 4 hours and 25 minutes long, comes days after his trip to Islamabad. Asked as to what will be on the agenda, spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs, Raveesh Kumar, said, "My understanding is that he is visiting to discuss some important follow-ups from the recent visit of the Saudi crown prince to India."
Asked if the minister is visiting as a mediator in the backdrop of his Pakistan visit, the spokesperson said, "How did the question arise? I made it very clear, and there has also been no offer of mediation from any country. Not from Saudi, not from any other country. There can also not be any mediation, and our position is very clear on that."
