What we did

"We bought an art deco factory with existing renovation plans and permits in 2012, then asked Nick Harding from Ha Architecture to make alterations to the floor plan," says Shirin. "Nick also detailed all the custom cabinetry, and I specified the colours and finishes."

Favourite room

"The open-plan living on the top floor is where family and friends come together; we cook and entertain here," says Shirin. "I also love the beautiful colour of our bedroom."

The 'hood

"We've lived in North Melbourne for more than 12 years; in fact, it's our second home on the same street," says Shirin.

Future plans

"We've decided to entertain more, so we're further integrating the indoor and outdoor spaces on the top floor with a pergola," says Shirin.
