Liverpool will be looking to move to within a point of Man City when Burnley visit Anfield at noon on Sunday.

The Reds slipped to four points behind Pep Guardiola's Premier League leaders after their victory over Watford on Saturday evening.

Sean Dyche's Burnley will provide a stern test of Liverpool's title credentials, though the Reds did win the reverse fixture 3-1 at Turf Moor in December.

It was an eventful game that saw a much-changed Liverpool team battle back from a goal down to emerge as victors after goals from James Milner, Roberto Firmino and Xherdan Shaqiri.

Team news

Dejan Lovren is back in full training for Liverpool but it remains to be seen if the Croatian will be deemed fit enough to play against the Clarets. James Milner is a doubt and Joe Gomez remains sidelined.

Burnley are without long-term absentees Aaron Lennon, Jonathan Walters and Steven Defour.

Full Time - Liverpool 4-2 Burnley

That’ll do it! Braces from Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane wrap up all three points for Liverpool.

    GOAL! Liverpool 4-2 Burnley (Mane)

Sturridge brings down Firmino’s chipped through-ball and picks out Mane with a great pass.

The forward rounds Heaton before slotting home into an empty net.

    Game, set and match.

    GOAL Liverpool 3-2 Burnley (Gudmundsson)

Gudmundsson finishes from close-range as Liverpool fail to clear with Robertson caught out of position.

    Sturridge shoots from distance

Sturridge wants a goal as he pulls the trigger from 30-yards. Gets his effort horribly wrong as he scuffs the shot but it deflects behind for another corner.

    Heaton denies Salah

It just won’t go in for Salah as Heaton tips behind his curling strike.

    Worry

Mane was coming off for Sturridge but that quickly changed to Alexander-Arnold, who appeared to have a knock. That’s a worry with Bayern coming up in midweek.

    Sturridge replaces Alexander-Arnold

Daniel Sturridge replaces Trent Alexander-Arnold with Jordan Henderson moving to right-back.

    Roberto Firmino drops into midfield.

    Robertson shot blocked

Mane plays in Robertson down the left but his shot is blocked by a great sliding challenge.

    Off the bar!

How has Sadio Mane not scored that?! The winger bursts into the box to get on the end of Trent Alexander-Arnold’s low cross, but his shot from close-range bounces up and hits the bar on its way over.

    Cruising

Liverpool cruising to victory here. Really professional and controlled in this second half. Outcome has never looked in any real doubt.

    U-turn

    Crouch and Gudmundsson on

Warm reception for Peter Crouch as he replaces Chris Wood. Meanwhile, Gudmundsson comes on for Hendrick.

    Henderson shot blocked

The ball falls kindly to Henderson in the box but his shot is blocked.

    No Anfield return for Crouch?

    Keita on for Lallana

Naby Keita comes on in place of Adam Lallana. Standing ovation for the playmaker.

    Salah shot blocked

Corner taken short and played back to Salah on the edge of the box. His low shot is blocked.

    Mane shot blocked

Mane powers a shot at goal from the edge of the box but it’s deflected behind.

    Keita coming on

    Gifted

What a gift that was. Awful from Heaton who kicked it straight to Salah. Marriner was about to give a penalty but the advantage allowed Firmino to fire home.

    Henderson on for Wijnaldum

One eye on Bayern as Jordan Henderson replaces Gini Wijnaldum.

    GOAL! Liverpool 3-1 Burnley (Firmino)

Salah pounces on a poor Tom Heaton kick and bursts forward into the box only to be brought down by Taylor.

But before the Reds can start appealing for a penalty, Firmino is on hand to stroke home into the empty net.

    Wijnaldum heads wide

Great cross from Robertson but Wijnaldum is stretching to get on the end of it and heads wide.

    Henderson getting readied

Jordan Henderson getting ready to come on. Could Adam Lallana’s afternoon be coming to an end?

He’s been exceptional and hasn’t stopped running, but got to wonder how much longer he can keep it up.
