New pair of escalators at Rajendra Nagar Terminal

PATNA: State health minister Mangal Pandey inaugurated a pair of escalators, which were installed at an estimated cost of Rs 2 crore, at the Rajendra Nagar Terminal on Saturday.
While the upward escalator has been installed on platform number I, the downward escalator connects platforms II and III.
The health minister also laid the foundation for installation of another pair escalators at the station.
“This facility will prove to be a boon for senior citizens, women and disabled people who find it difficult to carry heavy luggage while going from one platform to the other. The footfall of passengers has increased to 15,000 per day at the terminal,” Danapur DRM Ranjan Prakash Thakur said, adding, “The railways is making efforts to provide more amenities to passengers at all class A and B category stations in the Danapur division of the East Central Railway.”
Minister opens foot overbridge: State road construction minister Nand Kishore Yadav inaugurated a newly built foot overbridge (FOB) and platform sheds at the Patna Saheb railway station on Saturday. He also laid the foundation for installation of a pair of escalators at the station.
Addressing the function, Kishore lauded the initiative taken by the railways to provide passenger amenities like escalators, FOBs, platform sheds and benches at the Patna Saheb station.
Danapur DRM R P Thakur, additional divisional railway manager A K Rajak, senior divisional railway engineer Sujit Kumar Jha and RPF commandant C M Mishra, among others, were present on the occasion.
