DHARMASTHALA: Jains from Mysuru and Chamarajnagar offered mahamastakabhisheka to Lord Bahubali at Ratnagiri of Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala on Saturday. Kanakagiri Jain Math seer Sri Bhuvanakeerthi Bhattaraka swami said peace, amity is possible if one follows principles of non-violence, sacrifice and dispassion that Lord Bahubali practiced and showed in his life. These principles will help keep away mental pollution in one’s mind, he said.
Mahamastakabhisheka is being performed to the epitome of sacrifice. Devoted service is being performed as per guidance of scriptures, religious teachers for welfare of all. One must follow ‘panchanuvratha’ in their daily lives. If one learns to be happy by seeing their internal self or ‘atma’, then such self-introspection is ‘samyak darshan’, he said adding this internal purification helps invigorate one’s internal self and helps one forget worldly worries.
Dharmasthala is the home of ‘dharma’. Here, ‘Dharma’ is always aroused by way of mind, actions, words and deeds. Dharma is followed here. People who strive for welfare of self and others are noble people. Dharmadhikari D Veerendra Heggade consistently strives for welfare of all by following ‘rathnatrya dharma’, he said adding Heggade is an ideal personality for the entire country to emulate as well as leader and guide as well, the seer said.
The devotees poured 1008 kalash of water, milk, tender coconut, turmeric, saffron, kashya, sugarcane juice, sandalwood paste, ashtagandha and other ‘mangala dravya’ on the 39-feet-tall monolith on this occasion. The mahamastakabhisheka ended with poorna kumbabhisheka followed by mahamangalarathi and recitation of ‘shanti mantra’. Heggade felicitated Sri Bhuvanakeerthi Bhattaraka swamiji on this occasion. Senior Jain ascetics were present.
