Dharwad: Taking a jibe at AICC president Rahul Gandhi for his ‘Chowkidar chor hai’ remark during a Congress party convention in Haveri on Saturday, Dharwad MP Pralhad Joshi said the people of the country have faith in Narendra Modi and nobody will take Rahul seriously.
He was speaking to reporters in Dharwad on Sunday.

Mocking Rahul, Joshi said he (Rahul) himself is on bail in the National Herald case. “This family which is involved in one or the other corruption case since the time of Jawaharlal Nehru is now making false allegations against the Prime Minister. People have lost faith in the Congress and will not believe the lies of the Congress leaders,” Joshi said.

Joshi said Rahul has used unparliamentary words against the Prime Minister and it reflects his standard. Being the president of a party in the Opposition, Rahul has the right to criticize and debate on the government’s policies and programmes, but making personal attack on anyone does not augur well with his stature, he said.

Charging at Robert Vadra, Joshi said Vadra, who started business by investing Rs 50 lakh during the ten years of UPA rule in the country, has amassed property worth hundreds of crores. Why is Rahul silent on this issue, he asked.

On former chief minister Siddaramaiah’s remarks on ‘tilak’, Joshi said, Siddaramaiah has said that he fears people who sport tilak. “I want to ask Siddaramaiah why doesn’t he fear the people who wear cap and grow beard?” Joshi asked.
