BHOPAL: At a time when party leaders are busy forming strategy to win maximum seats in Lok Sabha election, the former and current head of the IT cell are at loggerheads. Congress workers have demanded removal of state head of IT cell, Abhay Tiwari. Dozens of workers gathered at Congress headquarters on Saturday and demanded appointment from CM and state Congress president Kamal Nath to complain against Tiwari.
Congress workers gathered at the head office and first met Bhupendra Gupta, who has recently resigned from the post of OSD (Officer on Special Duty) to CM. Most of the workers there said that there were serious allegations against Tiwari including working for BJP IT cell. How can Congress trust a person who has dealings with the BJP IT cell, said one of the agitated workers?
Tiwari had replaced Dharmendra Vajpayee just before assembly elections. Even Vajpayee was removed on the same allegations that he was hand in gloves with BJP IT cell and had some shared business interests. Nevertheless, the unsatisfied workers then met media coordinator of CM, Narendra Saluja. Deliberations were on for about half an hour without reaching any conclusion.
Ultimately the matter reached state vice president and coordinator CP Chandrashekhar. It is said that he called Dharmendra Vajpayee, who is now spokesperson of the party, and warned him of disciplinary action if he continues campaign against Tiwari.
