Liverpool will be looking to move to within a point of Man City when Burnley visit Anfield at noon on Sunday.
The Reds slipped to four points behind Pep Guardiola's Premier League leaders after their victory over Watford on Saturday evening.
Sean Dyche's Burnley will provide a stern test of Liverpool's title credentials, though the Reds did win the reverse fixture 3-1 at Turf Moor in December.
It was an eventful game that saw a much-changed Liverpool team battle back from a goal down to emerge as victors after goals from James Milner, Roberto Firmino and Xherdan Shaqiri.
Team news
Dejan Lovren is back in full training for Liverpool but it remains to be seen if the Croatian will be deemed fit enough to play against the Clarets. James Milner is a doubt and Joe Gomez remains sidelined.
Burnley are without long-term absentees Aaron Lennon, Jonathan Walters and Steven Defour.

Alisson saves
Alisson gets down low to save from an unmarked Barnes effort, but the flag had already gone up for offside.

Spirited response
Liverpool have done well since that early bodyblow. Really spirited response but plenty of hard graft ahead.
Half-chance
Good cross from Alexander-Arnold but it’s just too high for Robertson at the far post.
A rare well-hit delivery with erratic crossing so far in the conditions.

Foul?

Van Dijk plays on
Van Dijk has been in conversation with Klopp for some time over a possible injury but he seems to be fine. Getting on with it.
It’s raining again but at least that shows us where the wind is heading. In the second half, expect Burnley to absolutely batter it long because the ball is being held up towards that end.

Burnley still in this
Burnley’s limitations have been laid bare in the last 20 minutes. Liverpool can sense there are more goals in this.
But with set-pieces and rubbish officiating to contend with, Klopp’s side will know Burnley are very much in this and will be until a couple of goals lead is opened up.
JP on Mane goal
Lallana heavily involved again. Great block from Bardsley’s attempted clearance. While Anfield was demanding a penalty for the challenge on Salah, Mane hammered home the loose ball.

GOAL! Liverpool 2-1 Burnley (Mane)
Great finish from Sadio Mane and Adam Lallana is involved again!
Superb energy from the playmaker to block a Burnley clearance. The ball falls kindly to Mohamed Salah before he’s tripped in the box, but Mane is first on the scene to finish emphatically with a lovely, curling effort.
Much better
Liverpool have to be fair done really well since the goal. They are knocking it about and if the conditions bother to stay one way for 10 minutes they might get a good head of steam up.

Time for VAR?
Going back to Burnley’s opener, people are talking about how VAR would make a difference.
Any of the officials having eyes would have made a difference.
Credit to Lallana
Credit to Lallana for the part he played in that. Lovely cross-field pass for Salah, whose one-two with Wijnaldum opened Burnley up. A tap in for Firmino.
Perfect response
A perfect response from Liverpool. What’s interesting is how easily they are getting Burnley defending in their own area. A bit more interplay like the goal and they’ll have a lot more chances.
