Troubled 'Airwolf' Actor Jan Michael Vincent Has DiedActor Jan-Michael Vincent has died. He was most recognized as pilot Stringfellow Hawke in the 1980s CBS show “Airwolf.”????Reports say Vincent died of cardiac arrest on February 10th at a hospital near his home in Asheville, North Carolina. It’s unclear why it took so long for the news, first reported by TMZ, to surface.????Born in 1945 in Denver, Colorado, the actor, with those piercing blue eyes, starred in 1972’s “The Mechanic” and 1978’s “Hooper,” playing a stuntman opposite Burt Reynolds. He earned a Golden Globe nomination for his work on the tv mini-series “Winds of War.”????But offscreen, Vincent’s career was at times overshadowed by his troubled personal life, highlighted by struggles with drugs and alcohol. In 1997 he plead guilty to a drunk driving accident, and was briefly jailed in 2000.????But this is how he’ll be remembered, as the highflying pilot of that cutting-edge combat helicopter nicknamed Airwolf.????Vincent was 73. | |||||
