NEW DELHI: The absence of Kanhaiya Kumar’s name from the CPI’s first list of candidates for the Lok Sabha polls triggered rumours on Friday that talks between Lalu Prasad’s RJD and the Left party may be in troubled waters.
CPI, however, maintained that talks were in progress and said it would contest in 53 Lok Sabha constituencies spread across 24 states.
“Our talks with RJD is ongoing and we will take a call on Kanhaiya Kumar once that is finalised. Both the state and local units have identified a seat for him and we have to see how the talks with RJD pan out,” CPI leader D Raja said.
