Time for deprived communities to unite: Prakash Ambedkar
TNN | Mar 10, 2019, 04:27 ISTBelagavi: Prakash Ambedkar, the grandson of Dr BR Ambedkar and founder of Bharipa Bahujan Mahasangh (BBM), said that deprived communities will come under a single platform to fight the BJP and Congress in the general elections.
He said that his party has joined hands with the AIMIM to contest in all 28 constituencies in the state. Prakash was speaking at a meeting here on Saturday. He criticised both the national parties for exploiting the deprived communities for votes since decades.
He blamed the Congress for weakening the Constitution and BJP for attempting to change it. He said it’s a time for all the deprived communities to come under a single umbrella to fight the injustice meted out by the Congress and BJP.
He alleged that the BJP-led Union government opposed independent religion status to Lingayats as social reformer Basaveswara was against priesthood.
