NEW DELHI: A few days after Congress cleared the speculation on Congress-AAP alliance, Delhi chief minister and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday alleged that Congress wanted to help BJP in the Lok Sabha polls.
"We tried a lot to convince Congress for an alliance in Delhi to defeat BJP. But the party did not understand. The party is in the grip of arrogance," Kejriwal said while addressing a public meeting at Mustafabad.
Hitting out at the Congress party, Kejriwal said the party will lose its deposits in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls in Delhi.
Kejriwal urged the people to make sure that the votes don't get split and asked them to vote for AAP candidates in the general elections.
"Vote for parties which can defeat BJP in the parliamentary election. In other states whichever party is likely to defeat BJP vote for them. But since only Aam Aadmi Party and not Congress can defeat BJP in Delhi, vote for AAP," he told the gathering.
Though speculation of an alliance is still going on, leaders from both the Congress and Aam Aadmi Party have made it clear that both the parties are most likely to contest the polls without any alliance.
