HYDERABAD: Launching a tirade against PM Narendra Modi and CM KCR, Telangana Congress president Uttam Kumar Reddy on Friday alleged that women empowerment took a back-seat under Modi and KCR-led governments at the Centre and in Telangana respectively.
Stating that KCR’s cabinet is the only one in India that has no woman member, Uttam along with AICC leader RC Khuntia, former Union minister S Jaipal Reddy and CLP leader Bhatti Vikramarka caalled upon the Mahila Congress leaders to reach out to women voters and urge them not to vote for TRS. “The Congress has been headed by women such as Indira Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi for many years. Neither BJP nor TRS allowed women to lead their parties,” Uttam said.
Uttam also alleged that there was no security to the minorities under Modi’s rule. “KCR has struck a secret deal with Modi. The unemployment problem has increased under Modi’s rule,” he said.
