Couple robbed of car, valuables at gunpoint in Noida
The family immediately alerted the police and a police van tried to look for the suspects for nearly 20 minutes with no success. Based on his complaint, a robbery case (section 394) was registered at the Phase 3 police station.
noida Updated: Mar 10, 2019 01:34 ISTA couple was robbed of their Maruti Swift car by three unidentified men at gunpoint on Friday night from near the Parthla roundabout. They were on their way home to Ghaziabad from Greater Noida.
Police said Sumit Goyal (35), a software engineer, his wife and child were returning after attending a wedding in Sector 2, Greater Noida. Their family members were following the couple’s car in a different vehicle. Around 10.30pm, they stopped near the roundabout to wait for the second car to catch up, when three men on a bike stopped and pointed a pistol at them.
“A fourth person, soon, joined them and they took away my car keys. They also forced me and my family out of the car and took my wife’s gold chain before fleeing in my car,” Goyal said. He said while one drove the car, the others fled on the bike.
